This guide covers the app, on Windows and in the web app. For your account on this website, see Your RadiusPilot account.
Turn it on
Open Settings, then Profile
In the Security panel, find Two-step verification and click Turn on. If you last typed your password more than 5 minutes ago, the app asks for it first. You can also turn it on during the first-run setup.
Scan the code
Use an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. Can’t scan it? Enter the key by hand.
Confirm one code
Type the 6-digit code the app shows. Codes change every 30 seconds.
Keep your backup codes
You get 10 codes in the form
xxxx-xxxx. Each works once. Copy, download or print them, and keep them somewhere safe: they’re shown only this once.
Signing in
After your password, type the code from your app, or a backup code. Tick Trust this device for 30 days, and this computer won’t ask for a code again until then.
In the Windows app, the authenticator key is kept encrypted by Windows for your Windows account. If the app ever can’t read it (a Windows profile copied to another PC, say), sign in with a backup code, then set two-step up again.
Backup codes in the same panel shows how many are left. The app keeps them in a form it can’t read back, so it can’t show them again: lost them, or running low? Choose Generate new codes. The old ones stop working.
Lock when you step away
Lock after inactivity, in the same panel, asks for your password after 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes without activity (15 by default), or never. Lock now locks at once. Scans and automations keep running behind the lock.
Turning off two-step verification, managing backup codes, and opening Settings › Email or Settings › AI show Confirm it’s you when your last check is more than 5 minutes old: type your password, or a code from your authenticator app.
