  3. The preview scan

A scan finds the named businesses of the kinds you pick, within a radius of a place, from public listings. It takes five steps.

Run a scan

  1. Open New scan

Click New scan at the top of the sidebar, or press Ctrl N.

  2. Type a place

An address, a street, a neighbourhood or a city. Then pick one of the suggestions.

  3. Set the radius

Real scans reach up to 5 km. Quick picks: 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 5 km. Switch to miles if you prefer.

  4. Pick the kinds of businesses

Any of 18: dentists, restaurants, cafés, gyms and studios, hair salons, spas, auto repair, plumbers, HVAC, roofers, law firms, real estate, veterinarians, medical clinics, chiropractors, bakeries, boutiques and hotels.

  5. Run it

Add it to a project if you like. Then click Run real scan, or Run preview scan on Starter. Ctrl Enter works too.

What you get

  • The businesses found, nearest first: up to 500 per scan on paid plans, 100 on Starter
  • In the Windows app, up to 300 of their homepages checked
  • A score for each business, with its reasons
  • Every business on ScopeMap

The preview scan

On the Starter plan, your first real scan is a preview. It shows how many businesses it found, how many score high, and up to three of them: the ones with the lowest scores. Their phones and websites, and the rest of the list, open on a paid plan.

Starter has no other real scans. Bring in the businesses you already know with Import CSV, on Businesses or Clients, or choose a paid plan to scan more.

A real scan that fails or finds nothing doesn’t use up a scan. Run it again.
